For the past 60 years PLX has been at the forefront of developing high-quality monolithic optics that can withstand and perform under the harshest environmental conditions and maintain their accuracy over time.

With the recent acquisition of Reflex imaging, PLX has acquired the knowledge and expertise to integrate active optics into the product range. Integrating active optic devices such as scanning mirrors with advanced products, such as the Monolithic Optical Structure Technology™ (M.O.S.T.), PLX will be able to provide next generation solutions in the Defense, Aerospace and commercial industries. 

Scanning Mirrors is a technology that will integrate perfectly with PLX's current passive optical products, utilizing the strength and performance to withstand harsh operating conditions while increasing functionality and accuracy. 

This concept was proven by the work done by Reflex Imaging. Working closely with the Advanced Manufacturing research Centre (AMRC) at the University of Sheffield, UK, scanning mirrors were proven to enable "users achieve an order of magnitude improvement in precision over conventional systems" and "opens up the potential of using laser-based metrology to industries that currently do not use it due to price and complexity" says Peter Hart, CEO Reflex Imaging.
